The Great Science Fair Adventure

Sophie stood in front of her bedroom mirror, practising her science fair presentation one last time. Her project on "How Plants Grow in Different Types of Light" wasn't the fanciest at Everton Primary School, but she had worked incredibly hard on it. She dreamed of winning first place and becoming a famous scientist one day.

The morning of the fair, Sophie's best friend Maya was absent. Sophie had been counting on Maya to help set up their display table. "I can do this by myself," she whispered, remembering what Mr Green always said about independence. She carefully carried her project to school, determined to make it work.
